Leveraging Technology to Support Students, Faculty and Staff
You are invited to join your colleagues at the 2nd Annual FREE Technology Conference at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, Thursday, October 24 and Friday, October 25, 2013. Register NOW!
On Thursday, October 24, the conference will feature 3 outstanding keynote addresses starting at 1pm.
- Alexis Ringwald, Co-Founder and CEO of LearnUpwill be speaking about their mission to solve the skills gap by empowering job seekers to learn the skills they need to get hired, leveraging their job training and placement platform for entry-level jobs.
- Candace Thille, is an Assistant Professor at Stanford in the Graduate School of Education and former Director of the Open Learning Initiative(OLI) at Carnegie Mellon University. Her presentation, Surfing the Tsunami: Technology and Pedagogical Innovation, will focus on how web-based open learning environments can foster and accelerate learning.
- Andrew Maguireis founder and CEO of InternMatch “an online platform that connects students with amazing companies and helps companies hire amazing students.” He will be speaking on their efforts, using online tools and resources, to humanize the internship search process for students and to allow employers to recruit students who really fit in with their business culture.
At 4pm, Chuck Geiger, the Chief Technology Officer at Chegg will do a spotlight presentation on the company’s services including textbooks rentals, online study help and personal scholarship matching, as well as their environmental commitment to the American Forests Global ReLeaf program.
On Friday, October 25, the conference will start at 9am with a keynote address by Elizabeth Slavitt, of Khan Academy will present Khan Academy’s Vision for the Future: Providing a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere.
