My Story
Irene Haro
I first heard about the Paralegal Studies Program when I was roaming through Los Angeles Mission College School’s website. I typed Law in the school’s search engine and I was really interested in the program, so I decided to find out more about the AA Certificate and the classes involved. I have to say it’s one of my best decisions and completing the course has been one of my greatest accomplishments in life because now I can happily call myself a Paralegal. Of course I have faced some difficult obstacles along the way, but with the wonderful help of the great Law professors the school has, I made it. Not to forget Professor Jordan, who is a wonderful person and with whom I had the honor to work with and be his student; never hesitate to ask him for help. A surgery and, seemingly, a thousand OBSTACLES (okay, not too many) later, I was able to finish all my Law classes and graduate with my fellow classmates. As of now, I am currently waiting to get an answer from the San Fernando Court house; to go through an Internship program, they offer. I will definitely keep my fingers crossed. I will also continue on with the Law field. I plan on transferring to CSUN to obtain a Bachelors degree in English, and continue on to Law school. I am also currently looking for a part time as a Paralegal. I’m hoping I get an opportunity to work with family law or criminal, or preferably both. I will definitely recommend to others the Paralegal Program, it teaches you a lot throughout the course. I wish everyone the best throughout the Law classes, and good luck.
