Troubleshooting tips if you are having problems logging in to Canvas:

1. If you are trying to login before the class starts (1st day of class), then contact your instructor to see if

the class has been published or is open yet for you to login.

2If it is the 1st day of class, and you cannot login, then contact our Help Desk  - ilearn@lamission.edu

3. If you were just added to your class at Mission, it takes 24 hours to upload you into the Canvas system, so wait 24 hours

and try logging in again.

5

Get to know Canvas by watching this 7 minute video  and Canvas Guides

6 Look at your Instructors Faculty Website. They should have posted their syllabus. Also check the Schedule of
Classes Online (SOCO)
to make sure your class is entirely online, or also has meetings on campus (a hybrid class)
7 Look at Orientation to Online Classes and Orientation to Student Services

On the first day of class:

  • Log in to your course.
  • Look around the classroom to get a feel for where things are & how the course is structured.
  • Print & read your Syllabus.
  • Look for Announcements.
  • Complete your Course Check-In Assignment (just logging in to your course doesn’t count, you’ll need to actively participate).
  • Email your instructor if you have any questions or concerns.
8 Take advantage of Ecounseling   (for students who are taking at least one online or hybrid class)
