Assessment Analysis
In Law 17 in the Spring 2012 assessment, the score was 80%. This assessment was at 89% which is a substantial improvement. It was almost a 10% increase or improvement. This is a Legal Writing class in which the student, by the time they take this class, it is towards the end of their paralegal training and should have substantially improved their critical thinking skills since the start of the program. Students are required every semester for the last 4-6 semesters to read the materials on critical thinking and legal argumentation and characater counts which should provide a solid knowledge base for evaluating ethics case studies. This is positive evidence that having students re-read materials every semester in various areas to improve their abilities to analyze and engage in critical thinking is one way in which to bring about improvement in student success.
